Sled Kites

The sled kite was developed in the 1950s and is a semi-rigid design. Unlike the similar parafoil kite, which contains no spars, a sled kite has spars that help the kite maintain its shape. Sleds, which are single-line kites, are known for their lifting ability and have been used by some anglers for fishing and by photography enthusiasts in their kite aerial photography setups.
